Harold and Helen Brown, Silver Lake, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday.
The “Wisconsin boy” married “this dairy farm school teacher” in Illinois March 21, 1964.
Helen graduated from Asbury College, Kentucky. She sewed her own satin wedding dress, and was awarded three first place prizes on her quilts. She works in Warsaw Community High School’s lunchroom.
Harold is a greeter at Walmart of Warsaw, He graduated from Greenville College, Illinois, and Asbury Seminary. Winona Lake Free Methodist Church has been their church home. They have been missionaries to South America, and pastored 33 years.
 They are parents of a daughter, Mary Helen Gensch, who teaches in Pierceton.
They have three grandchildren: Wesley plays baseball at Grace College; Elizabeth and Timmy attend Whitko High School.
Their son-in-law works at Bowen Center.
The couple are scheduled for a two-week tour of Israel in April.
